The Greening of Autonnic - August 03, 2011

The Greening of Autonnic

This year sees a number of activities that reduce the amount of carbon that Autonnic’s activities produce. This includes new bikes for Autonnic’s employee and installing a heat pump.

Employees at Autonnic have obtained new bikes on the government Bike 2 work scheme. A number of Autonnic’s employees live locally, within two miles of the factory; this scheme has allowed them to get all the equipment to cycle to work safely instead of driving. This allows our team to be active as well as reduce their carbon impact. “My work journey is 12 miles and I am currently trying to cycle to work twice a week. I notice benefits such as saving on petrol and feeling fitter” comments Graham Richards, Autonnic Product Manager.

This year Autonnic has also installed an air to water heat-pump to heat its factory. This 18kW 3-phase heat-pump adds to our developments of further decreasing our carbon generated in heating our factory in the winter months.
